Donations are
one of the contributing factors that make our recycling
collection events possible. It helps to pay for
recycling costs, event equipment, organizers,
advertising costs and much more. The average cost
to recycle a computer system is around $20 and a single
event can bring up to 50 tons of electronics. Than
means that a single collection event can put our
recycling costs into the thousands.
We do charge a minimal fee to each person or corporation
that drops equipment off at our collection events.
This helps to get more people involved and aware of
computer and electronics recycling. Unfortunately
most people are not accustom to paying to get rid of
there electronics. Nor are they aware of the
environmental impact that each system can potentially
have. If given a choice between doing the right
thing and recycling equipment properly but having to pay
more to get rid of them or to just dispose of them in
the trash with little or no expense, most people in our
experiences still would go the cheaper route. Thus
our environment suffers because the determining factor
between doing the
right thing and doing the wrong thing becomes more of a
financial issue.
We are
always looking for donations weather it is financial,
donating a service, lending equipment, or if you would
just like to volunteer to help with one of our
collection events. If you would like to make a
donation please click on the "Make a Donation" button or
if you want to volunteer time, services or equipment to
help with our collection events please visit our Contact Us page. We thank
you for your contributions and interest in our
program. |
