Our Goal at Recycle Techs is to recycle
and reuse as much equipment as possible. Unfortunately,
not all equipment is repairable or is too costly to fix.
When a product has out lived it's use, it is our job to
make sure that it gets disposed of in an appropriate manner.
This does not mean take it to our local dump or land fill.
Most of our outdated office equipment has toxic metals
that can leach in to our water supply if not disposed
of properly. Some of the metals that exist in your
monitors or motherboards can be recycled and reused.
Our disposal process starts off
with determining whether any part of the product is
salvageable. Most computers have internal and
external parts that can be removed and added to other
machines. Our product then has all asset tags
removed and a disposal certificate is given. All
hard drives and other data storing devices are then
shredded or rendered unusable. The discarded equipment
will be transported to a local recycler and precious
metal extractor. They will remove all recyclable
parts and metals from the equipment and dispose of the
equipment properly. Precious metals can then be
sold to other manufacturers to be used in new machines
and other equipment.
